My e-mail rejection letter to Gina E. M.
I’ve been doing internet marketing for 5 years and I could come up with a list of books I’ve read related to online marketing. I actually practice internet marketing techniques for my current e-commerce business. Yet during our conversation, you couldn’t come up with the name of one book.
I could rifle off a list of online marketing conferences that I’ve attended, and yet you couldn’t recommend me one.
I don’t question that Isagenix is a good company, and I certainly don’t question that you’re a good offline marketer. During our conversation, you really haven’t told me any marketing strategies that I haven’t done in the past. I’ve already failed at the following marketing techniques of bugging total strangers at the local mall and barking up friends and family. That is what I don’t want to repeat. Yet you kept talking my ear off about how great your company’s products or services are and avoid the topic of marketing like the plague.
A chessmaster knows a hundred different ways to beat his opponent in chess. But a newbie knows perhaps 2 or 3 ways. It seems to me that you couldn’t go beyond 3 given the fact that you and I were never on the same page about marketing to begin with. Since you couldn’t go beyond three, your only backup game plan was to utilize your “checkwaving” strategy and your 6-figure bank account to entice me to sign up with you. Quite honestly, I find that a turnoff among MLMers who do that. What would have impressed me more is if you could show ME how to get prospects for my business.
